French for “The Night”, this Mediterranean blend of traditional and contemporary brings a warm welcome to guests through culture, food, music, and night life. The restaurant’s two story space includes an aromatic hookah lounge with a large variety of fruit and other flavors. Comfortable booths and bar seating are available on both floors. Exposed brick wall adds a ripened look to the intimate ambiance, furthered by hanging lamps and candled tables.
Executive Chef Sean Chudoba oversees the inner workings of the kitchen, combining and modernizing dishes from various regions to create a menu that fulfills expectations as well as surprising the taste buds. Offerings include an exceptional tapas menu with the cursory flatbreads and hummus dips, plenty of goat cheese, as well as the house’s unique figs wrapped in duck bacon. Main dish selections are limited but include variations of the customary lamb, steak, pasta, and kebabs. Cocktail and wine lists are simple but provide unique and interesting options which blend with the foods of the region. The beer menu has distinctive choices from Turkey and Bavaria, as well as the standard Belgian, Mexican, and American brews.
Happy hour specials range from 4pm to 9pm between Wednesday and Saturday. However, even the regular menu prices are quite affordable considering the quality and location. Regularly invited DJs and belly dancing round out the experience of The Night. Find La Nuit at 1134 1st Ave, between 62nd & 63rd Streets.
